Ethan is a GIS Coordinator in the Department of Wildlife, Fisheries and Aquaculture at Mississippi State University. He works as the lead developer on the interactive platform for the Strategic Conservation Assessment (SCA) of Gulf Coast Landscapes as well as the Southeast Conservation Adaptation Strategy (SECAS) Next Generation Blueprint. He intends to provide a conservation framework that synthesizes and advances the existing and ongoing conservation planning and design efforts in the Gulf Coast Region. His work includes maintaining and developing the online assessment tools being used in the vital decision-making process for shareholders and conservation practitioners.
Ethan got his bachelor's degree in Surveying and Mapping Engineering from Tongji University in China, and later graduated with his master's degree in Geographic Information Science at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. He has extensive experiences within the field of GIS, including spatial / statistical analysis, data processing, model building, web-based mapping / development, SQL/No-SQL database management, remote sensing and cartography.
